The Blink Mini Pan-Tilt Mount Overview

This is an interesting product.  Rather than come out with their own pan and tilt camera, Blink decided to come out with a mount that fits a camera released three years prior.  They call it the Blink Mini Pan-Tilt Mount.

What is Pan and Tilt?

We always liked the Blink Mini.  Basic features and extremely well priced.  And most importantly, very reliable.  But that’s it.  Nothing special.

Until now.

The Blink Mini Pan-Tilt Mount breathes additional life into this camera model.  Rather than sitting on a shelf and sucking in the 110 degree field of view, this mount permits the Blink Mini to pan left and right and up and down.  Cover what in front and what’s behind.  Add in a bunch of features, you have a pan and tilt camera as good as practically any other.

How the Blink Mini Pan-Tilt Mount Works

Raise your hand if you knew the base can be detached from the Blink Mini camera.  Not many hands.

Just grab the base with one hand, the camera with the other.  Now pull.  See?  That was easy!

The Blink Mini Pan-Tilt Mount comes with the mounting base and a small cable that goes between the Blink Mini and the mounting base as the mount powers the camera.

Take the camera and attach it to the mount then plug it in and set it up through the Blink app.  Now you have a pan and tilt camera.

Setup through the Blink app is quite straightforward.

The camera motion can be controlled out of the same Blink app that is used to view your other cameras.  Added are arrows to pan left and right and move up and down.  All motion tracking capabilities remain unchanged.

Some New Features

Beyond the ability to move your camera all over the room, there are a few new features you only get with the Blink Mini Pan-Tilt Mount.

The 360 Pan.  Access this feature through the “More” button.  The camera will do a complete pan of the room.  First panning all the way to the right then slowly going all the way to the left.  A complete view of the room.

There is also a Default View option in the “More” section.  This allows the user to select the resting position of the camera after performing a 360 Pan.

These are features found in a typical pan and tilt camera.  It’s a nice way to improve the coverage of your existing Blink Mini camera.

The Blink Mini Pan-Tilt Mount is a great addition for owners of the Blink Mini. It enhances the ownership experience with a greatly enlarged field of view.  Amazon has these at an excellent price.

It’s available in black or white.  The mount can be purchased by itself or can be paired with a camera as a package.

It’s a specialized mounting solution only for owners of the Blink Mini.  Glad we found this and think other camera manufacturers could implement these for their older models to breath new life into them.
