eufy cameras have an LED indicator light that shows the camera’s current status. Once the camera is set up and confirmed working, there is no reason for the light to stay on — and for bedroom, nursery, or stealth installations it is actively unwanted. The eufy Security app lets you disable it in a few taps. Here is how.

How to Turn Off the Status Light on eufy Indoor Cameras

For eufy indoor cameras including the Indoor Cam E220, Indoor Cam Pan and Tilt, and similar models:

Step 1. Open the eufy Security app and tap the camera you want to adjust.

Step 2. Tap the Settings gear icon.

Step 3. Scroll down to find Indicator Light or LED Indicator.

Step 4. Toggle it off.

The light turns off immediately. All camera functions — recording, motion detection, alerts — continue normally.

How to Turn Off the Status Light on eufy Outdoor Cameras

For eufy outdoor cameras including the SoloCam S340, SoloCam S40, and eufyCam series connected to a HomeBase:

Step 1. Open the eufy Security app and tap the camera.

Step 2. Tap the Settings gear icon.

Step 3. Tap Device Settings.

Step 4. Look for Indicator Light or Status LED and toggle it off.

Note: On some eufy outdoor camera models, the indicator light setting may be labeled differently or located under a sub-menu. If you do not see it immediately, look under Advanced Settings or General Settings within the device menu.

The eufy Privacy Mode Alternative

eufy cameras also support a full Privacy Mode that disables recording, live view, and motion detection simultaneously — not just the LED. If the goal is to give household members visual confirmation that the camera is not recording (for example when guests are present), Privacy Mode is a more complete solution than just turning off the indicator light. Access it from the live view screen by tapping the Privacy Mode icon.

What the LED Colors Mean on eufy Cameras

  • Solid blue — camera is connected and operating normally
  • Flashing blue — camera is in setup mode or connecting
  • Solid red — camera is powered but not connected to the network
  • Flashing red — firmware update in progress or resetting

Open the eufy Security app, go to the camera’s Settings, find Indicator Light or Status LED, and toggle it off. Works on indoor and outdoor eufy models. If you want to disable recording entirely rather than just the light, use Privacy Mode from the live view screen instead.
