Motion and sound alerts are fully configurable within the app. Sensitivity runs on a scale from 1 to 100, which gives you considerably more precision than the basic low/medium/high sliders found on many competing cameras. Detection Zones are one of the more practical features on the v3. Hardware and Build Quality

The Wyze Cam Pan v3 has a distinctive stacked cube design. The best way to picture it is two small camera-sized cubes on top of each other, with the upper cube housing the lens and rotating on the lower base. It is compact and sits stably on a flat surface.

The v3 is wired, powered via micro USB. If the included cable is too short for your placement, a longer micro USB cable will work fine. The status light on the front can be toggled off through the app, which is useful for discreet installations.

The full 360 degree horizontal and 180 degree vertical range is a genuine improvement over earlier versions, which were limited to 93 degrees of vertical tilt. In practice, a single v3 can cover an entire room without dead spots. Waypoints can be set so the camera returns to specific positions on command, and Motion Tracking follows moving subjects automatically across the frame.

IP65 weather resistance means the v3 handles dust and water jets from any direction, making it suitable for outdoor use under a covered area or in a garage. The supported temperature range of -4 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit covers most real-world conditions.

The 120 degree field of view is well suited to corner placement indoors, where it covers the maximum area. For a large open room, placing it in a corner and letting Motion Tracking do the work is the most effective approach.

Image Quality

The 1080p sensor records at 20 frames per second during the day and 15 frames per second at night. Daytime footage is clear and detailed for a camera at this price. Furthermore, color night vision performs well up to around 25 feet, which covers most indoor rooms and smaller outdoor spaces comfortably.

The v3 does not have the 4K resolution of the v4, and that gap is visible when zooming in on details like faces or license plates at distance. For general room monitoring, however, 1080p at 20fps is more than adequate.

Storage
